How it all began
In early 2005, Dutch worked for an electronic billing and medical record company. He found that every technology vendor that came in seemed to do their best to impress the principles of the company with their "tech-speak-geekery".
He quickly realized that this was just a "smoke and mirrors" game by these companies, who either did not have confidence in their customer service or they were trying to upsell as much as possible. Their solutions, as presented, were often much more than was needed and the meetings were typically confusing.
His conclusion was that people wanted solutions that worked, and they didn't have an overwhelming need to know how everything worked or what technologies went into it all.
We wouldn't try and fool people into using solutions they don't need, we would present simple solutions that our clients can actually undestand so they may make an informed decision.
Thus, Rubber Duck Technology Solutions was born.
What's the deal with the Duck?
Honestly, it was a joke at first... tongue-and-cheek you might say. For the lack of anything better, we named the company after a Rubber Ducky that happened to be sitting on the desk. The ephiphany we had was that this duck is the epitomy of simplicity, safety and comfort. No one is afraid of a rubber ducky; They grab it, squeeze, and generally have a good time.
Our hope is that we will help you feel the same way about the technology solutions you choose to implement. If it's not as friendly as a rubber ducky, we haven't done our job.
